I didn’t think I needed…

Truthfully, I didn’t think I needed a needle tool.

I have been using sewing straight pins to create detail marks in my work for about two years now, and I didn’t think I needed a needle tool.  I bought one the other day, and I’m so glad I did.

The marks the needle tool makes are bigger, for sure, but the handle makes up for it.  Instead of crunching my fingers around a tiny pin, my hand has something to hold.  And it has texture!  For grip!  It is also much better for placing pieces than a sewing pin ever was.

I shouldn’t be surprised.  A needle tool has been part of my ceramics toolbox for years now, and I reach for it often.

So I think the moral of the story is, sometimes, yes, the new tool is worth it.
