Precision Applicator

To be honest, I wasn’t really sure that these precision-tip bottles would be worth the hype.

However, after using them with my last collection I have changed my mind. The precision tip on this bottle was very helpful at getting UV resin on the back of the earrings where I attach the stud to the polymer clay. It is a task that I can do with the regular resin bottle, but the precision tip definitely made it easier.

I was afraid that the resin would clog the applicator tip, like it sometimes does in the normal bottle, but I was able to easily clean it with a tissue like I usually do. The opaque bottle also is important so that the resin does not cure prematurely. Filling the bottle with resin was easy, as the resin comes in an easy-pour bottle, but using a tiny funnel for other substances may be helpful.

In reading the Amazon reviews, I noticed that other people reported problems with getting more bubbles than normal in their resin. I noticed this as well, but figured it was because my resin hadn’t had the chance to settle before I used it. I’ll have to see what my results are the next time I use it.

I am also in the process of testing these bottles with underglaze in my ceramic practice. So far everything looks great, so I’m excited to see the results when they come out of the final glaze kiln.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these bottles if you’re looking for ways to make using resin a little easier. I would classify them as a “nice to have” item, but they made the sometimes tedious task of securing posts a lot easier.
